One of India's oldest general insurance businesses is National Insurance Company Limited
The company was founded in 1906 with its headquarters in Kolkata to achieve Swaraj.
However, after the General Insurance Business Nationalization Act was passed in 1972, the company was merged with 11 Indian and 21 foreign companies to form the National Insurance Company Limited, which is one of the four subsidiaries of the General Insurance Corporation of India that has been completely acquired by the Indian government.
The shares of existing Indian general insurance firms and undertakings of other insurance companies were transferred to GIC under the requirements of the General Insurance Business Nationalization Act for the regulation and control of the insurance industry.
National Insurance Company was delinked from its holding firm, GIC, and created as an independent insurance company in 2002.
Every day, National Insurance Company works harder to integrate processes and people using innovative technologies. The business has been providing exceptional services while adhering to the highest ethical standards.
