What's Covered In Tata AIG Travel Insurance
Baggage Covers
Baggage Loss: Loss of baggage in a foreign country can lead to severe problems for senior citizens. It can be because of the medications, healthcare aids, and other useful products in the lost baggage. With Tata AIG Senior Citizen Travel Insurance, we cover losses of checked baggage, held in the care and custody of a Common Carrier, because of theft or due to misdirection by a Common Carrier or due to non-delivery at the destination.
Baggage Delay: It covers the expense of necessary personal effects in case the Checked baggage gets delayed or misdirected by a Common Carrier from the arrival time as stated on the ticket.
Journey Covers
Automatic Extension Of The Policy: In certain situations, the insured can't control all happenings, such as flight delays. To cover these aspects related to travel insurance, Tata AIG offers automatic extension of the granted insurance period to a period of seven days from the policy's date of expiry, if it is necessary. It can be due to the delay that happens in the Scheduled Airlines and no alternative transportation is available to the insured senior citizens
Medical Covers
Accident & Sickness Medical Expenses: It guards them against the expenses incurred because of a medical emergency and covers minor and major injuries. These expenses are reimbursed based on the chosen deductibles and up to a certain amount per disease or illness insured, as defined in the Policy Schedule or the Schedule of Benefits.
Accidental Death and Dismemberment: During the insured journey, they may meet with an accident, which can lead to disablement. If this happens, Tata AIG will pay a certain percentage of the principal sum assured as per Policy Schedule. Even the unfortunate death of the insured during the holidays gets covered similarly.
Dental Treatment: Travel insurance policies do not usually cover dental treatments. However, under this policy, the insured senior citizens get the expenses of visiting a dentist in a foreign country reimbursed. Dental benefits include teeth filling or surgical treatment, services or supplies subject to the maximum amount per occurrence / per tooth as covered in the policy schedule.
Emergency Medical Evacuation: As a part of the travel plan, the insured senior citizens may need immediate evacuation or transportation facilities in case of a medical emergency. We offer emergency medical evacuation coverage payable up to the policy limit in case the policyholder suffers a medical emergency and needs to be evacuated to get the necessary treatment. This benefit involves a medically necessary transportation facility but does not refer to medical coverage.
Repatriation of Remains: In the worst-case scenarios, it often happens that senior citizens die during a foreign trip because of their ill-health. Paying for the cost of transporting their bodies to their homeland is an expensive affair.
Our senior citizens travel insurance plan offers repatriation coverage. As per the policy terms, our team will arrange for the required transportation of the insured's body to his or her home country or a nearby cremation facility.
What's Not Covered
Tata AIG overseas travel insurance policy for senior citizens comes with several benefits. However, it does not apply in several exceptions, some of which are:
Suicide, attempted suicide (whether sane or insane) or intentionally self inflicted Injury or Illness, or sexually transmitted conditions, mental or nervous disorder, anxiety, stress or depression, Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), Human Immune deficiency Virus (HIV) infection; or
Serving in any branch of the Military or Armed Forces of any country, whether in peace or War, and in such an event We, upon written notification by You, shall return the pro rata premium for any such period of service during the Trip; or
Being under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or other intoxicants or hallucinogens unless properly prescribed by a Physician and taken as prescribed; or
Participation in an actual or attempted felony, riot, crime, misdemeanor, or civil commotion; or
Operating or learning to operate any aircraft, or performing duties as a member of the crew on any aircraft or Scheduled Airline; or
Any loss arising out of War, civil war, invasion, insurrection, revolution, act of foreign enemy, hostilities (whether War be declared or not), rebellion, mutiny, use of military power or usurpation of government or military power; or
Any loss arising out of the intentional use of military force to intercept, prevent, or mitigate any known or suspected Act of Terrorism; or
The radioactive, toxic, explosive or other dangerous properties of any explosive nuclear equipment or any part of that equipment; or
Performance of manual work for employment or any other potentially dangerous occupation; or
Congenital anomalies or any complications or conditions arising therefrom; or
Osteoporosis (porosity and brittleness of the bones due to loss of protein from the bones matrix) or pathological fracture (any fracture in an area where pre-existing Disease has caused the weakening of the bone).
