HDFC Life Cancer Care offers lump sum benefit on diagnosis of Cancer that helps to protect your income and savings from expenses that aren't covered by your major medical coverage, like Out of pocket medical expenses, Out of Network specialist, Experimental Cancer Treatment, Travel & Lodging etc. when treatment is far and so on.
1. Annual premium amount of Rs.1411 for a cover of 20 lakhs, for Male aged 35 years, 10 years term, Silver option, excluding Taxes and levies as applicable.

Benefits offered under the various Plan Options
1. Silver Option
1. Offer lump sum benefits on diagnosis of Cancer as per the table below:
2. Waiver of Premium: On a valid claim of Early Stage Cancer or Carcinoma-in-situ (CIS) diagnosis, premiums will be waived for a period of 3 policy years.
2. Golden Option
Gold Option:In addition to the benefit offered under Silver Benefit, under this option Increased Benefit under this option Increased Benefit is also payable. In Increased benefit, the Sum Insured increases by 10% of initial Sum Insured each year starting from the first policy anniversary. This will continue till the earlier of:
1. Increased Sum Insured becoming 200% of the Initial Sum Insured or
2. Any claim event

1. Platinum Option: In addition to the benefit offered under Gold Benefit, this option offers monthly income of 1% of applicable Sum Insured for 5 years, on diagnosis of listed Major Cancer.

What is the claim process for cancer insurance?
The claim process is hassle-free and is paid upon diagnosis of cancer in the policy holder. 25% of applicable sum assured is paid upon early diagnosis. And upon diagnosis of a major cancer, the insured stands to get 100%minus early stage cancer benefit of the sum assured. The benefits for early stage cancer detection is paid only once during the policy term and for its first occurrence only.
All future premiums for a period of three policy years are waived off on detection of early stage cancer. In case where the outstanding term is less than three years, premiums for outstanding term would be waived off. As you opt for premium plans (gold and platinum), you stand to gain from the increased benefits like the sum insured increases by 10% each year starting from the first policy anniversary. How does cancer insurance work?
A cancer insurance provides financial protection to you and your family against early or major stages of cancer. Under the plan, once the policyholder is diagnosed with a major or early stage of cancer, a lump sum is paid by the insurance company. Further, all future premiums for next three policy years will be waived off on receiving a valid claim of cancer diagnosis. Cancer insurance operates independently and all benefits and payouts are separate from other health insurance plans you might have.
